Milligan enters the Portuguese market with our latest development, Barreiro Retail Planet.
We have a joint venture agreement with Eiffage (the 8th largest European construction company) to jointly develop the scheme through to its launch in November 2010.
The scheme is already 70% let with key Anchor tenants, Decathlon, DIY brand, Aki and Portuguese consumer electronics brand, Radio Popular.
Barreiro Retail Planet has an enviable location, 30k south of Lisbon and benefits from a strong catchment, 700,000 people live within a 30 minutes drive of the scheme.
The ground breaking ceremony which took place on the 14th October 2009 was attended by the Mayor of Barreiro, Carlos Humberto who said “Barreiro Retail Planet is an important addition to the future development of the region, signifying increased economic activity and employment growth generating up to 1300 new jobs in the area”.
