Metquarter Liverpool

In 2004, with the help of our shareholders J. W. Kaempfer and Richardson Developments, we bought Metquarter in Liverpool from The Walton Group.

The Metquarter is housed in the old post office building in the centre of the city.

Our research showed that Liverpool is poorly served by retail outlets with few international brands with the result that much of the money that could be spent in the city is going elsewhere.

We carried out a complete redevelopment of this 140,000 sq ft space.

The Metquarter brands represent a diverse mix of independent and prestigious retailers. Many of which are available for the first time in Liverpool. Stores currently opened in Metquarter include All Saints, Animal, Armani Exchange, Aspecto, Billabong, Bratz, Café Rouge, Coast, Costa Coffee, Diesel, Energie, Fossil, Flannels, Firetrap, Guess, Gieves & Hawks, Hobbs, Hugo Boss, Kate Kuba, Kurt Geiger, Levi’s, LK Bennett, Links of London, M.A.C, Mikey, Molton Brown, Miss Sixty, Paperchase, Peter Werth, Parchment, Phase Eight, Samsonite, Sassoon Studio, Storm, Sunglass Hut, Timberland, T.M. Lewin, Toni & Guy Opticians, Tommy Hilfiger and Whistles.

The Metquarter opened 9th March 2006.

Following a successful 18-month launch period, Milligan sold Metquarter in August 2007 to Anglo Irish Bank Private Banking and Alanis Capital.
